James Halliday's Wine Companion 2009

5 star plus winery rating – Outstanding winery regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity. One of the top 8% of Australia’s wineries.
7 wines rated 94 points or above

Wallcliffe Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2006 – 96 points
A beautifully crafted and balanced wine; literally takes off on the mid-palate through to the finish, with fantastic drive; great citrus and mineral flavour.

Chardonnay 2006 – 95 points
Super fragrant, citrus-tingedmelon and stone fruit; a long clear and vibrant palate, with barrel ferment nuances adding texture and complexity; balanced finish;trophy WA Wine Show ’07.

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2007 – 94 points
Sophisticated winemaking, a harmonious and seamless fusion of the two varieties and partial barrel ferment; has length and intensity.

Shiraz 2005 – 94 points
Powerful and intense, with a firm, clearly delineated structure founded on firm tannins and integrated oak; blackberry, spice and pepper attest to this relatively cool part of Margaret River.

Zinfandel 2005 – 94 points
A complex wine in both flavour and structure terms, yet not heavy or extractive, and carrying its alcohol with ridiculous ease.
