An elegant and complex chardonnay with flavours of grapefruit, lime and gingerbread on a long fine palate with subtle mineral hints. Traditional winemaking techniques including hand picking and barrel fermentation produce a wine of great pedigree with outstanding balance and refinement.
This Cape Mentelle chardonnay style draws inspiration from the most traditional Burgundian methods to produce a wine displaying aromatic complexity and a fine, textured palate with a long, rich finish. Our chardonnay is made to go from aperitif to cheeseboard and is perfect for cellar ageing.
Whole-bunch pressed to French barrels for wild fermentation and a lengthy sojourn. Full-on green-gold; it's exceptionally intense and concentrated, with all manner of stone fruits and a savoury gauze of grapefruit juice and zest. The acidity is important now, and will be so later. Striking.
