Ray Jordan, The West Australian Wine Guide 2017
‘Georgiana’ was named after Georgiana Molloy, a pioneer settler in the south west of Western Australia. A woman of indomitable spirit, she was an amateur botanist who made a significant contribution to the understanding of Australian flora.
Georgiana is a fresh, vibrant expression of Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc. Every effort is utilised in the vineyard and the winery to promote the clean aromatics and punchy citrus characters of this variety. Georgiana is distinctively textural on the palate, with bright and refreshing acidity providing balance to create the perfect summer white.
Light straw-green; while juicy and spotlessly clean, the wine has a slightly savoury/minerally mouthfeel which places it several thousand kms away from Marlborough, and makes it a genuine food style.
Excellent Margaret River sauvignon blanc. Georgiana offers penetrating varietal aromas that suggest lush tropical fruits, blossom and light leafiness. Great balance with a zippy, dry finish.
Punchy ripe tropical fruit, a little grassiness, some flint, juicy fruit sweetness, fine acid and a good finish. Burst of flavour and impact. Good chalky length. Hi! It’s me! It’s made for a market, and made to please, but it’s not cynical. Good stuff. Almost rated it higher.Download all reviews for this vintage as PDF
